Educator Cards
While your personal card is for your own enjoyment, consider an educator library card to enhance your classroom collection, your homeschool curriculum, or your preschool lessons and story times!
To get an educator library card:
Fill out an educator card application at any LCL location
Show proof of your current status as a teacher, a letter from your preschool or daycare administrator, or verified homeschool district approval
Educator cards are not available for student teachers, tutors, or retired educators.
What can you do with an educator library card?
Borrow up to 80 items at a time
28-day checkouts with 4 renewals
Show your educator card at the Friends of the Licking County
Library book sales for a bag of free books
Up to 5 forgiven lost items per calendar year
Still use your personal card for your own checkouts
Some restrictions on educator cards include interlibrary loan items, hot spots, video games, driving kits, and museum passes.
Educator Collection Guidelines
LCL is happy to help educators connect with students by putting together collections that complement and enhance lesson plans. Contact us for additional information at 740.349.5550 and youthservices@lickingcountylibrary.info or place an online order. Guidelines:
At least 14 days are required to assemble an Educator Collection request.
Collections can include fiction, nonfiction and audiovisual materials.
Multiple copies of specific items are considered a classroom collection.
Hot topic and seasonal items may be limited due to their popularity among educators.
Collections are held for seven days after their pick-up date. Any collections not picked up will be re-shelved.
Collections can be picked up at any Licking County Library location, including the Mobile Library.
Educator cards have an 80-item checkout limit. Pending collection requests cannot be filled if the card has reached the checkout limit.
Educator Collection items can be checked out for 28 days with 4 renewals.
